How porcelain veneers are placed

At your smile design consultation with Dr. Tostado, he will show you photos of previous cases he has completed. It would also help if you would bring in pictures of someone who has a smile you hope to achieve with veneers. Dr. Tostado will explain all the details that he takes into consideration when designing your new smile. He will also help you determine whether either conventional or no-prep veneers will help you achieve your ideal smile.

Once you and Dr. Tostado arrive at the shape and color you want for your teeth, Dr. Tostado will create a set of provisional veneers in acrylic for you to test drive.

At your veneer appointment, if it is needed, Dr. Tostado will remove a small amount of enamel from your teeth. If tooth reduction is needed, your teeth will be numbed with local anesthetic for this procedure. After taking an impression, he will place the provisional veneers with temporary cement. These provisional veneers will protect your teeth. It will also allow you to confirm that the look that has been created is what you want. Once he knows that you are thoroughly happy with that look, he’ll move forward with your case and create a model of the provisional veneers for the ceramist to use it creating your porcelain veneers.

Finally, you will come back to have your permanent veneers placed. Dr. Tostado will remove the temporaries and apply your new veneers with temporary paste. If you love the way your new smile looks, Dr. Tostado will bond your veneers in place.
